Monday 15th September - walks ****** – Breezy Felixstowe sunrise – sunny periods and windy.

Walk 1 – Sunrise Felixstowe prom.

Mag is walking at 6 most morning now and with a wsw wind blowing 30/40 knots today I decided to join her today to catch the sunrise, hoping for some decent pics to send to the TV weather, I was not disappointed:) Despite the breeze it is supposed to be fairly sunny and there was the usual bank of cloud on the horizon hen we made it down to the prom and with the slightly offshore wind it was a pleasant walking towards the Fludyers with the breeze on our backs, really quiet and not feeling cold at all! The sun made an appearance at 6.42 as we reached the Fludyers and decided to continue to the end of the prom at Jacobs Ladder where we watched the sea for a bit, with the wind a little off the sea was not too rough especially with a dropping tide! It was harder walking back into the breeze but great none the less, made you fell great to be alive! I walked on the beach to the concrete frame breakwater to take some pics of the splashing waves, for the best shoots I took my sandals off and went for a paddle, the sea is still a good temperature too, Mag sat on a seat and waited:) We continued into the bracing breeze where I took a couple of pics of the flags going bonkers near the Spa Theatre and then turned up into the gardens where we were more sheltered, I had also bumped into fellow weather photographer Mr Blue Sky out on the prom so I will have some competition today , fingers crossed Felixstowe gets on the TV today! It was back to bed to sort out my pics and Mag read and did her large array of word games. Then it was time for breakfast and exercises, I think I will give windsurfing a miss today! Maybe we will head out for a picnic later?

Walk 2 – Felixstowe Ferry for a picnic:)

I did not finish my exercises until 1.30 so quickly packed a picnic and we drove down to Felixstowe Ferry hoping to find a sheltered spot for a late lunch. Parking near the Martello tower we set off towards the Deben with some nice sunshine and some lovely clouds and the cross off wind was strong as we made our way towards the entrance of the river. We tucked away behind the rocks and enjoyed lunch watching the wind blow the tops off the small waves and the sheltering gulls as the incoming tide slowly covered the shingle ! What a relaxing lunch we had but with a dark cloud approaching we decided to head back to the van, we did get a few drops of rain but no amount. The wind was really strong as we approached the van, I checked later on HHA and it gusted to nearly 5o mph!!!! What a top day we had:)
